PRESENTATION OF SERVICE:

The Kumba District Hospital was built in the 1930s by the colonial Masters and handed over to the Government of Cameroon at Independence.
After independence, it was called the General Hospital Kumba after which and was later changed to the Divisional Hospital Kumba. By Ministerial arête N0 026/A/MSP/SG/DSC of 07/08/95, it was renamed the Kumba District Hospital.

The hospital land is bounded to the West by the Kumba Principal Prisons and to the East by the Presbyterian Mission and the New Quarters.
Kumba is a junction town and the biggest town in the South West Region with a health District population of 327.000 inhabitants. The District Hospital Kumba does not only serve the health population mentioned above, but also acts as a referral hospital to other neighbouring health Districts like Mbonge, Konye, Mundemba, Ekondo Titi, and Tombel.

Ever since the hospital was transformed into a modern health institution, there has been a steady rise in its patients' flow.  District Hospital Kumba falls under Kumba Health District which comprises a variety of health services, hospitals, health centres and units that aims at providing quality health care to the population of Kumba and its environment.
